Keep Smiling

Everyone has their own story, their own version of Hannah. But everyone knows how sweet and kind and considerate Hannah was. And every friend of hers knows that Hannah's sense of humour could (and did, often) brighten the darkest days. She could just look at me, raise an eyebrow and have me in stitches. Her bursts of comedy got me through many all night essay writing sessions.

Which is why within minutes of learning of her death, through tears and anguish, I managed to smile. You see, when I got the call, I was in Marks and Spencer's. What made me smile was realising almost immediately that Hannah would find it hysterical that I was crying in M&S. She would have snorted, then cackled, then said "hashtag - middle class problems!". And she'd never let me live it down.

Once again, as it has so many times before, Hannah's sense of humour helped me through dark times.
